Ultimately, we cannot deny that producing our floors and walls has an impact on the environment. However, we strive to keep that impact as low as possible. We are constantly searching for new methods to find the perfect balance between design, comfort, quality and sustainability.

It all checks out

As much as we like a good story, every tale must have foundations built on solid data. We always put our products through extensive scrutiny and gain useful, relevant feedback from third party research. Therefore, our clients know that Senso products really are as good as advertised. Our promise to you is an amazingly good product, guaranteed.

Every company that makes products needs resources. We are no different, and with that in mind, we have taken our first step on the road to a more durable and sustainable production line. The choices we make for our products are underpinned by what motivates us, as well as what we believe is important for the planet. These values haven’t changed since the day Senso was founded.

We want to make products that unite spaces and people, will last a lifetime and will have as small an impact on our environment as possible.

Sustainable production starts with finding and growing renewable resources and transporting them in an energy-efficient way. The next step is making these building blocks suitable for use in our final products. The complete lifecycle analysis also involves considering what to do with the product after it is no longer usable. We keep the environment in mind every step of the way, and by mapping these steps fully and honestly, we can learn more about the impact of our chain of activities on our environment and start to work on improving every single aspect.

Over 65% of our product is made from plant oil. Although more expensive, this method is completely free of harmful side effects and substances. Our oil is sourced from a plant that only requires a small amount of water once a month to grow to three meters in height annually. It bears a fruit extremely rich in oil, which is pressed a bit like an olive. The oil from this single pressing is transported to our factory without any processing. This is how we treat the planet and the people inhabiting it kindly.

Is your house, hotel or office being given a new purpose? No problem! Our Senso floors can be fully recycled. We cut the Senso floor into strips and remove the entire product from the subfloor. Next, we grind the removed finish into fine particles using a microniser. These are then used again in our filler instead of quartz, a mineral that would otherwise have to be mined. By recycling our floors we skip that harmful mining process and choose to be good to the environment.

The circle is complete: the old floor is given a second life. Waste is reduced, as is our burden on the environment.
