Studio Job Antwerpen

Studio Job opened their exhibition space in Antwerp for contemporary art and design. Led by Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel, Studio Job is on the roll and has been a rising star for some years in the interior design and art world. A self-curated restrospective of 65 of their idiosyncratic, highly crafted works, was on display at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York.

Breakthrough items were the Bavaria marquetry series in 2005 and the Robber Baron series, which were artwork casted in Bronze.

Some people really like the artwork the studio is creating, some really don’t. “It’s very expressive, but you can still call it design without calling it art,” says Nynke. “If you look back 400 years ago at the beginning of Renaissance, a lot of fields overlapped and maybe we’re in a similar time and place now, I hope we are,” according to Job.

The collab between Senso and Studio Job has been going on for some time now. We’ve started with the installation of a Pure Light Grey Sensofloor for their art gallery in Antwerp but have worked on some amazing projects over the years, such as the Swarovski Museum in Austria, the WATT Tower in Antwerp and Job Suite, a private penthouse in Amsterdam.
